Nyokum

2015!
I am posting after a long sabbatical break.

Nyokum is a festival celebrated by the Nyishi tribe of Arunachal Pradesh. I was invited with my friends to pre-Nyokum celebration in the Ragiv Gandhi University campus, Doimukh by a senior of mine who is Lecturer of Tribal studies over there.

I took few photos of the game of 'Tug of war' played by the students there in Nyishi traditional attire.

Camera- Olympus E-PL2 (I still use it) and Nikon 105mm f/2.5, Nikon 50mm f/1.2 and Nikon 24mm f/2.8.

A man in Nyishi head gear made of bamboo and bear hair and false Hornbill beak made of wood (real Horbill beak is now illegal to wear since the bird is near extinction)
