November musing...

Photography is something I enjoy (passionately enjoyed once) but most times I am too lazy to do something about it... Unless I don't feel an adrenaline rush, I don't push myself anymore.... Life has become too hectic and I am addicted to mobile surfing lately...
I've become too mundane and I guess I've adjusted this way now... Anything out of ordinary doesn't excite me any more, in fact it makes me feel stressed...
Now and then, I take photos. Most times, I take only so that the sensor doesn't get fungus like it happened with my previous cameras and lenses...
I've also invested in a dry cabinet and I am not sure as of now how fool proof it will be so I feel the need to take out the cameras and do some working every now and then...
These are some of the photos from the current season... It's almost winter here now...

Sanglem Village, West Kameng, Arunachal Pradesh

Sanglem is the last of the Tri-village after Morshing. The area is steeper than Domkho and Morshing... The famous Lhagyala Gompa is situated in the mountainside, overlooking the valley. It was constructed by Kachen Lama in the 7th century. It is a repository of immense treasure and antiquities of Buddhist Sectarians and plays an important role in the socio-political and religious life of the people of the entire area. The term ‘Lhagyala’ means repository of more than hundred large icons. It is next in position after the Tawang monastery. I've never been there but one day when I visit, I will update with the photos...

View in Sanglem village

People playing traditional dice in Sanglem

Cowries and colourful sticks are used...

We were offered some snacks and local wine known as Ara with butter in Sanglem...

Again the purple flower! Sanglem had vast field of purple flowers...

My colleague- Yanu posing in the valley of the purple flower

Someone dried their kid's cloth on the tree. Cute!

A typical Monpa Stone house... Slowly wooden houses took over and now concrete houses... Traditional house designs are kind of endangered...

People stock piles of wood during winter which last them throughout the year....

The buildings seen far away is Morshing Gompa ( Buddhist temple

Another traditional Stone house. I like the design...

This was during another day of training of Women Self Help Group members... She was cooking our lunch...

Never saw such a handsome dog! Interesting puppy design on pant of the kid.

 Playing dart...

A path leading to the farm crossing the small creek

A boy busy playing video game... Kid's addition these days. Village kids are also not spared...

A young girl attending two kids at the same time belonging to the ladies who are attending their training...

What a cute smile! :)

Morshing Village, West Kameng, Arunachal Pradesh

Morshing is one of the Tri village and it is in  middle of Domkho and Sanglem. The village is very dense as compared to the other two village. The village is beautiful and has very clean and well organized structure... I'll certainly update more photos of Morshing as days goes by because I've not taken much photos of the place...

Saw three men with a cute tiny puppy outside a shop in Morshing village

This man was an interesting character wearing animal hide and traditional hat...

This is a traditional stone house of the Monpas in Morshing village

Warm hospitality yet again shown by the Ama (mother in Monpa language). She made us tea and offered us beaten corn which is a snack in this part of the world.

The lady and the cat...

Domkho Village, West Kameng, Arunachal Pradesh

Domkho is a scenic village nestled in a valley. It is about 57 kms from Kalaktang. It is one of the tri- Monpa village.
We had an office training for the village women Self Help Group here and I had a nice chance to take some photos from the village...

Tea and Khabje. This normal snacks, post- Losar festival. Eveywhere we go, we are offred sweet tea or buttered tea with Khabke: snacks made of flour.

Weaved Khabje

I love this scene... It was outside the training hall. Few women were cooking for us... A lady was attending someone else's child and kids were running about... The dog and me just observed everyone...

The dog who likes to observe things like me...

My husband attending the dog now...

Khabje with Pink coloured- Ara (local wine)... The bamboo jig is used to store Ara.

A cute dog basking in the spring sun...

Peach and Plum trees everywhere...

Milk and Khabje offred again in a lady's house... Milk is an essential part this side. People rear cows for milk and meat but mostly for the former as they make cheese known as Churpi out of it and it is their stable food.

Sichuan pepper... Sichuan is also used in their cuisine a lot for making side dishes... It was my first time to see the Sichuan pepper...

Abandoned Govt. construction...
